Welcome to the Students Equal, Diverse and inclusive committee. We are from the History and Heritage sector at the University of Lincoln.

Our aims for the 22/23 Academic year are listed below:

Ensuring the history and heritage curriculums are equal, diverse, and inclusive.

Helping to ensure the university is a safe and welcoming place for students.

Making module content more accessible for disabled students.

Addressing issues highlighted by members.
Our Achievements so far
We have had a variety of achievements in the academic year of 20/21:

We have been invited to REEC meetings to put across our thoughts and ideas.

Being acknowledged as the most involved student EDI committee in the CoA.

Following up on issues of racism on campus up to Head of School level.

Following up on accessibility issues through meetings with the Head of Teaching and Learning for the School.

Communicating with Campus Jobs about the subtitle idea for online lectures.

Creating amazing social media content that highlights our research and valued work.

Creating disability and LGBTQ+ inclusive word banks for emails.

Creating a very passionate group of people who have supported each other continually and will be friends for years to come!

We have had a variety of achievements in the academic year of 22/23:

We arranged a welcome week talk for first year students to introduce ourselves. We had some interested students which is fantastic to see!

In October, we arranged a series of events for Hate Crime Awareness Week. The events are as followed:

Martin Stern MBE shared his testimony as a Holocaust survivor. This event had students, staff and members of the public involved.​

Dr Erin Bell shared her talk on antisemitism and minority groups in the Early Modern Period.
-
Our Chair, who is a JUST Lincolnshire ambassador, did our final talk on Hate Crime.
